We were told not to use a pillow until they are in a regular bed. I'd ask her dr what they recommend.
We were told the same thing. My son is 19 months and still has no pillow and won't until he is moved to a big boy bed as well. Our daughter was moved into her big girl bed at 21 months and that is when she got her pillow.
My kids have slept on pillows since they were born. Just works easier for me and they can breathe easier when they have a stuffy nose. I've never had any problems. I don't think that anyone knows what they are talking about when it comes to kids sleeping these days. When my sister was a baby, they said to have her sleep on her back. When I was, it was your tummy, then my bro and younger sis it was their back...so I really don't think they know what's going on. I say do what YOU feel is right. I've never gone by anything that any "specialist" has ever said.

That makes me feel better! I might let her have one. Thanks for the input!
My daughter started using a pillow around 20months -- I had my grandma make a smaller version of a pillow - just some fabric and little batting -- worked wonders - she got the feel of a pillow without it being big and cumbersome. Now, my 11mo old uses the same small pillow and will NOT sleep without it and my 2 1/2yr old has moved up to a bigger bed pillow. Maybe if you found a smaller, more lightweight one you would feel more secure? Just a suggestion since it worked for me! Soo easy to make to.

Thanks! That is a great idea!! I was going to let her have one last night but thought I would worry all night. That is a great idea to make or get her a smaller pillow! Thanks for the suggestion!
I gave my son a pillow when he switched to a toddler bed at 18 months. I picked out a feather pillow that way he can fluff it up or smash it down almost flat...depending on what mood he is in. He is almost two now and loves his "piddow"! It is heavier than a standard pillow which could be construed as a suffication hazard but in our house it actually helps promote leaving it in his special spot on the bed.

My daughter, who is only 14 months old, loves pillows. when we lay down together on the couch or in bed she likes to lay on top of the pillows. She will put pillows together on the floor and lay on them too when she playing with her stuffed animals. I think she is to young for one in her crib but was wondering when other people started letting kids use pillows? I have two older boys (13, 10) and I think I gave them pillows when they switched to their toddlers beds around 2 years old but they never really seemed to like pillows as much as she does. Would it be ok to give her one? She is old enough to move her face if she couldnt breathe but I think it would still worry me? What do you think?
