Pregnant after nursing!?!?

Submitted by jennifer marie on May 9, 2008 - 2:05pm.

I just concluded nursing my 1 yr old and, to get sort of personal, I recieved my first period right around that time. But now I should be getting it again, and nothing!!! Is it normal to run late while your body adjusts to no longer nursing? I sure hope so, because I would be soooo tired with a 3rd so soon! And I'm tired and cranky this past week...please tell me this is "normal"! Can anyone relate???

Yeah..I had gotten my period back while I was still nursing my 2nd and she was 11mo. I had 2 periods then missed one. Thought the same thing, just adjusting. Nope. Preggo. #3. They are 21 months apart. Yes I'm tired but I couldn't be happier!

It is normal to have an irregular cycle for a few months, I know I did this last time. I missed one then had it again the next month. But being pregnant is also a possibility, so you could take a test if you want.

Nursing isn't a type of birth control. My sister so believed the myth that if you are nursing you wont ovulate. Since you ovulate before your period shows up, she never got her flow, just pregnant. she has two that are 14 months apart and two that are 17 months apart. both times she thought nursing would prevent pregnancy. So long story short, I'd take a test!
