I have heard of Kindermusik before, just looked at the webside. Sounds like fun...just wondering how much classes cost?

It depends on the class you are taking. For the summer classes, we offer 1 week camps, 4 and 5 week sessions, and 8 week sessions. The shorter sessions will of course cost less than the longer ones as far as tuition. Also, some classes/camps require more materials than others do, so that will account for fluctuation in overall cost.
If you go to our website and click on the "classes" icon it will open up a listing. Find one that would work for your child(ren) according to age and interest and click on that.
The information tab will explain the class itself; the cost tab shows how much an individual class costs when you average. The summer tab will show when and where that class is available and the semester cost. If you would like to view the breakdown (tuition, materials, registration) of that total cost, you can click on the price.
If you have any specific questions about which classes to enroll your child in, I'd be more than happy to help. Please feel free to pm me and I'll get right back to you. Thanks for asking about the program - hope to meet you in class this summer!
Thank you, sorry I wasnt able to find the link to the cost when I checked out the site the first time, must have been a tired mommy moment!hehe I found it now. I think I am going to sign my daughter and I up. It sounds awesome. Cant wait!

No problem - it's always a challenge to navigate yourself around a new website, isn't it? :) So excited for you and your little one to try Kindermusik - welcome!!!
The prices seem really reasonable.
What to they mean by 'Session 1:Over and under'? I need to choose an evening class & this is the next class.
Thanks.
Musical Mother Goose is the name of the summer units we use for that 18 month to 3 years group. It is broken into two 4-week sessions. You can sign up for either Session 1, which is entitled "Over and Under", Session 2 which is "Food and Baking", or you can sign up for both, for a total of an 8-week class.
Basically, Musical Mother Goose takes a lot of familiar Mother Goose nursery rhymes/songs and turns them into activities for singing, dancing, instrument play, stories, etc.
In the "Over and Under," we do things like "Jack Be Nimble" (...Jack jumped OVER the candlestick...) and "Hey, Diddle, Diddle" (...the cow jumped OVER the moon...) In the "Food and Baking" we use rhymes like "Pat-a-cake," and "The Muffin Man." The appeal of these classes is that they are familiar stories, nursery rhymes, and tunes.
Our summer schedule is a little bit more flexible - we know that many families are busy, busy, busy in the summers with vacations and other commitments. We hope to make classes/camps convenient for as many families as possible so that they can continue to enjoy Kindermusik through the summertime.

thanks Beckyjo-Just got my daughter registered!
So glad you'll be joining us - welcome to Kindermusik! :)
I'm very interested in signing my son up. He's 15 months old now...so I'm not too sure what class I should sign him up for. Mother Goose or Peek a Boo I Love You. I'm very confused. lol. Please Help! It shouldn't be this hard, but I make simple things complicated.
She had suggested that my daughter, who is 14 months old, sign up for the mother goose or peek-a-boo.
That's actually a very good question - your son is at that in-between age. Basically, if you are looking to do a full 8-week session for the summer, I would sign him up for Village: Peek-A-Boo, I Love You - as he would be about 16 months when the class starts in May/early June. If you wanted to do a 4-week session later in the summer (July'ish), then you could sign him up for the second session of Musical Mother Goose - as he would be about 18 months when that class starts. Let me know if you have any more questions - hope to see you this summer! :)
You can also check out kindermusikofsiouxfalls.kindermusik.net for additional classes and times...
I know there have been questions in the past about the different programs...I just wanted to clarify that the mentioned site is for a different Kindermusik program.
I didn't realize there was more than 1. I think that's great to be able to check them all out...some might be closer than others.
But on Friday morning we're checking out the first one posted with our son for free! I hope he likes it.
Which class are you going to? My daughter and I attend the 9:15 Our Time class every Friday...maybe we'll see you? :)
Yup 9:15am on Friday is the class. I forgot the name of the teacher...but I got an email to confirm. And not only will you get to meet me and Dakota..but hubby/daddy as well. lol So I think we'll stick out pretty well. They said that was one of the smaller classes too.

Hi, Moms! I am doing a new posting for 2008 with some of the same information that I used last summer...registration is now open!!!
I wanted to invite all of you to check out Kindermusik at The University of Sioux Falls. I am a teacher for the program and love my job. However, I have also been taking my own children to classes for the past 4 years. My 2 1/2 year old asks me almost every day - "Are we going to Kindermusik?" :)
Our summer schedule is flexible - you can sign up for 4 week or 8 week sessions or a week-long camp. We have classes during the day and the evening, held at 3 different locations. For those of you who have more than one child, I encourage you to check out our Family Time classes. I did this with my own children one year - it was a very special evening each week dedicated to spending time together without distractions. Kindermusik is designed for newborns (Claire started when she was 3 weeks old) through age 9.
Our website address: usf.kindermusik.net
You can browse through classes and our schedule, learn more about the program and staff, read testimonials, and even register online. We'd love to have you join us - maybe I'll see some of you in class this summer!
