Go to irs.gov and you can see when you are getting yours. If you did direst deposit you will get it faster. But it goes by the last 4 digit of your social security number

We are not getting one at all so sorry I cant help but I wanted to say I think to many people are counting to heavely on these things. I know some people said they needed them by next week cuz they allready had the money spent. I understand being broke is hard but NEVER spend the money before its in your hand. I think this money was ment to be "extra" money not money you counted on like your paycheck.

We're not getting one either because of the income cut offs, which I think is crap.

I just checked our bank account this morning and ours is in there!
As far as I understand, they're going by the last two digits of your SS number. We were supposed to be in the wave deposited this week and it just showed up today. You can check on the IRS website to see the schedule.

Still patiently waiting. I tried the thing on irs.gov but dont have my tax return handy so not sure how many exemptions we had. According to the site though, we should have it today if it would go off my husbands SSN. Keeping my fingers crossed!

We are not getting ours till June.. We did our taxes through H&R and decided to get the Emerald Card for some dumb reason!! So now we have to wait for a paper check!! Not sure what we are going to do with the check when we get it because where we bank through they dont have a location in the state of South Dakota..

We haven't got ours yet. My husband's SSN lies in the second wave of checks, but mine falls in the first...grrrr...
I'm starting to feel like that guy in "Office Space," Excuse me, excuse me, I didn't receive my paycheck yet.
My husband did get his forklift sold (with a little tear in his eye) but that sure takes a load off (no pun intended).

We're in the opposite situation. My ssn is in the second wave, and my hubby's in the first. How do they determine which one to use?? Any ideas?

So funny on the fork lift thing. I had to give my husband a moment with the "man car" Monte Carlo we totaled (the last, highly valued, vestige of his bachelor days . . . ) before we left the dealership with a used MINI-VAN . . . I'm pretty sure he had a tear, too . . .

I'm confused why it wouldn't be as much as expected.
Isn't it pretty set in stone.
$600.00 for an adult/$1200.00 per couple
plus $300.00 for each dependent (child).
So a family of 4 should receive $1800.00
(assuming 2 adults, 2 children)

Am I wrong?

We haven't gotten ours yet, so I am curious if we will get my $600. Our tax guy said we would... but two other SAHM's that I know didn't get their $600.

Nope, not set in stone, depends on your income and tax liability...we filed with 2 qualifying kids but are only getting $1200 back instead of the $1800 because we pay ALOT in self employment tax. Ours breaks down to $300 per adult X2 plus $300 per kid X2.
We also won't get ours till the last wave of direct deposits.

It is UP TO $600 for an Adult. Most people will only be getting $300.

Yes, however, you cannot get back more than what you paid in in 2007, so if you didn't pay in that much, you probably shouldn't expect that much back.

When you say it wasn't as much as you thought it would be, did you mean that you were estimating? Or did you actually use the IRS calculator?

We got a letter saying we would get $1200 for being married. And could get $300 per child. We have two kids that should be been $1800 but we did not get that much. I will have to check the calculator thing when I get home

It does say that if you don't get what you expect some of the reasons could be that you:

1. Owe back taxes
2. Owe child support
3. Owe on a previous student loan (I assume one that is in default, not current)

I hope we get what we expect, I would sure be bummed!!
