RUDE!!! I belong to Sanford Wellness, and although I think there is a no cell phone policy, it definately isn't being enforced. If you want to talk to someone while you work out, call a friend and hit the bike trails. The only thing on your ear at the gym should be headphones (and not blaring...but that is a whole other pet peeve that I won't expand on).
Well, let me give you a different perspective on this. While I do not agree with having long (and loud) conversations on the phone while at the gym I do take my phone to the gym and this is why. I work for a job that I am on call rather frequently. While I am on call, I am supposed to carry around a radio and listen to it for the point when I am called in and need to report to work. Now, I do like to go to the gym during the day so I call in and ask to be contacted by cell phone. So, that is why I take my cell phone to the gym with me. If I happen to get a call from anyone else, I either step off my machine and walk away from the crowd, or I tell them I will call them back after I am done working out. I dont know...I see your point about cell phones being annoying but I hope you can see it from my perspective too.
o.k. if it is an emergancy or important. But to be talking to your friend, family about your crazy mom, or what party your going to or how drunk you got last night, or how your boyfriend/gfriend "p--d you off is ridiculous... You seem to be considerate and not throwing your stuff to harm others.
seriously, I have 3 kids and her stupid mistake could cause me a broken ankle, leg, etc. I don't think soooooooo..

I was working out at the gym and a lady next to me is on her cell phone complaining to her friend, sister about how her mom is soo selfish, crazy, and well I heard it all. Anyways, 10 mins. into this she takes off her sweatjacket with her free hand and throws it down on the floor and it lands on my track of machine. "SHE wasn't paying attn. and didn't care." I stopped threw it to her and said "Here is your jacket, I don't want to fall, you should hang your phone uppp."
So, i ask the gym, hey is there a rule on cell phone usage at the gym, their response,"not really"
So, would it be o.k. ya think if next cell phone conversation I hear I make some comment about their conversation or not.? What to do?
