Anyone going to see Barack Obama speak tomorrow?

Just wondering if anyone is going to the Arena tomorrow to catch a glimpse of our new president? I really want to but I am not sure if I want to be around crowds of people waiting around. I think I may have to go buy a t-shirt at his office if I am going to go!

You can start going in @ 5pm but he doesn't speak until 7pm! You know people will start lining up about 2 or 3! So I am just not sure what to do...5 o'clock traffic doesn't sound too good to me. I have not yet decided on what to do but I will let you know for sure.

My husband just told me that someone asked him if we were going to go and they said that anyone that is going to go @ 5 will probably not get in...I am not sure if I am that dedicated!

My hubby and son want to go soooo bad, we have a 6 pm appt tonight though. Bummer, my wishes win again ;)
Disclaimer: to anyone who might possibly be offended by this. I am a republican, my hubby is a democrat. I love him with all of my heart in spite of this fact. I will not try to change him, I love him just the way he is. I do and will in the future tease him relentlesly, because humor has kept our marriage strong for many years.

So funny . . . My mother often cancelled my father's Democratic votes over the years! They had a great "inter-political" marriage!

I really want to go to this event. I made a reservation online through the Obama Camp. in Sioux falls. Does anyone know if this assures you a spot?

Never mind ladies, I answered the question myself. It's first come first serve and the doors open at five.

Yes, I got there at 5:45, walked right in and went thru security. There was never a line once the doors opened. If you went you got in! It was super exciting. He gets greeted like rock star royalty! Lines don't scare me. What ever it is, if it is good, it will probably be busy!

WE got there about the same time mimi did.. although we were stopped about 5 times outside because of filling out "tickets", then i had to register to vote, and then people kept stopping us to buy shirts.. i would have bought a shirt but they didnt have the one i want.. I thought the speech was really good (besides when he called Sioux Falls, Sioux City!! haha).. He is only human right!?!? I do feel sorry for the people standing behind the guy with the Hillary sign, that he snuck past security. we were stilling diagonal from him and he was bothering us!! He was not doing anything wrong tho, so there was nothing they could do about him (he stood the ENTIRE time with his "Hillary for president" sign held high).. Oh well it takes all kinds!!! I will be voting for Obama but my mind was made up before i went to the arena.. It was a good time. it is a big dream but i hope i will be able to meet him someday!

Wow-that takes some nerve (but I'm secretly loving it!). I actually thought about doing the same thing, but don't think I could have gone through with it. I'd be afraid I'd get beat up or something! Truthfully, I feel Obama is an amazing candidate who could do wonderful things for our nation. I just love his energy and dedication to change. Unfortunately for him, he happens to be running during the same election as possibly the first female president, but if he wasn't he'd have my vote in an instant. I am confident in both candidates (and in the future of the US). May the best man or woman win! Have a happy Saturday everyone-enjoy this gorgeous weather!

It was a bold move for that man, but unfortunatly it made him look like a immature hillary supporter.. Barack handled him in a very confident, professional manner by telling the crowd to let the man stand with his sign, because there will be lots of hillary signs throught out this!! I too feel Hillary is a great candidate also.. I do not think it is unfortunate that Barack is running against hillary becuase she is possibly the first women president, because either way if one of them wins presidency it will make history. Hillary being the first woman president and Barack being the first black president!! I do not for any reason think that people should vote for hillary because she is woman or barack because he is black!! People should vote for whom they think is going to do better with our country. This is a great race, and i am excited to see how it all works out!!
